Schedule: Full time on site    |    Classification: Nonexempt hourly - $20.00/hour

Position Summary

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for callers and visitors and supports daily office operations. The position provides professional front-desk service, follows building-access procedures, prepares meeting spaces and maintains office supplies and orderly shared areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming calls; greet visitors and provide building access in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare meeting spaces and maintain appropriate supplies in office, kitchens, conference rooms, the shop break room, and restrooms.
  • Monitor inventory and order approved office, kitchen, restroom, and meeting supplies.
  • Maintain reception and shared areas in a clean, organized, and professional condition.
  • Coordinate routine incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries as assigned.

Decision Making and Scope

Follow established procedures for visitor access, call routing, supply orders and deliveries. Refer unusual requests, access concerns and purchasing exceptions to the supervisor. Employee event coordination with Administrative Support function.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior reception, customer-service or general office experience preferred.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Basic proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and office equipment; ability to learn call and visitor systems.
  • Ability to prioritize callers, visitors and office requests while protecting confidential information.

Physical and Work Requirements

The position requires a professional presence, frequent telephone and computer use, sitting and standing, walking between office and shop areas, reaching, bending, light tidying and restocking, and occasional lifting or carrying of supplies and meeting materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Performance Expectations

  • Welcomes callers and visitors promptly and professionally.
  • Follows access procedures and routes calls and messages accurately.
  • Prepares meeting spaces on time and maintains approved supplies.
  • Keeps reception and shared spaces orderly and escalates facilities concerns.
  • Personal coursework or school assignments may be completed during slow periods, provided all assigned duties are current and the employee remains available to respond promptly to calls, visitors, and work requests. Attendance at virtual classes during business hours is not permitted.
